Who we are

The Future We Build is a trading name of Edds Associates Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16882870), registered office 86–90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE. What we collect and why

Newsletter. When you subscribe, we collect your email address so we can send you The Future We Build newsletter. Our legal basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the sign-up form.

Buyer Needs Survey. When you register interest, we collect your email address so we can tell you when the survey opens and send you the results. As the form explains, registering also subscribes you to the newsletter. Our legal basis is your consent. The survey itself will have its own short privacy information explaining how responses are used, shown before you take part.

Sign-up details. With your email address we record the date, which form you used and the page you signed up on. Our email provider also records whether our emails are opened and which links are clicked, and approximate location from your IP address. We use this only to understand what readers find useful.

Emails to us. If you email us, for example to suggest a guest or discuss a partnership, we use your details to reply. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the platform.

We never sell your data or share it with sponsors or partners.

Who processes it for us

Beehiiv (beehiiv Inc., USA) stores subscriber details and sends our emails. Because Beehiiv is based in the United States, your data is transferred outside the UK under safeguards approved for such transfers. See Beehiiv's privacy policy.

Hostinger hosts this website. Like all web servers, it keeps short-term technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and to keep the site running.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal record that you have done so, so that we don't email you again. Emails sent to us are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up.

Cookies

This site does not use analytics or advertising cookies, and our fonts are hosted on our own server. Episode videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode and load only when you press play; YouTube may then set its own cookies. Sign-up forms are provided by Beehiiv and load from Beehiiv's servers, which may set cookies needed for the form to work. Links to Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube and LinkedIn take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email, which withdraws your consent. You also have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email alex@thefuturewebuildpodcast.com; we will respond within one month.

Changes

We will update this notice if how we use data changes, and show the date of the latest version at the top.
